Jose Mourinho is back to riling up Premier League managers and this time its Pep Guardiola.
Tottenham Hotspur are due to host Manchester City on Saturday night.
Mourinho hit out at City for recalling Raheem Sterling early from international duty. The forward was excused due to a small injury, something that the Spurs boss has refused to believe.
Guardiola responded, “Mourinho has to speak to the doctor for the national team of England and the doctor for Manchester City. He has to go to the doctors of the national team and Manchester City. Except maybe Mourinho is a doctor, I don’t know.”
Both managers have a history in La Liga where Guardiola has the better record against the Portuguese. Still, the rivalry has continued over the years and we are seeing that right now in England.
Mourinho also insinuated that City players go down far too easily to win fouls. Guardiola replied, “Listen, I’m not going to answer anything about Jose. I said about the doctor, because he accused us of something we’ve done that is not true.
“You have to speak to the doctors about these other things, don’t ask me. I’m almost 50. I’m old enough to understand.”
