Pep Guardiola In Awe Of Ruben Dias' 24-Hour Dedication To Football

Ruben Dias has made quite a statement since arriving at Manchester City last summer.

He became City’s record signing at £62 million, coming in from Benfica.

Pep Guardiola’s men took a 5-2 humbling at the Etihad just prior to Dias’ arrival. After that they, have managed to clinch the best defensive record in the league losing just once in their next 13 Premier League matches.

Guardiola believes Dias’ dedication to his profession is behind the success he has brought into the side.

“Do you know when the player makes a big sign or an influence on the team? When he is able to play every three days. That is the best signing,” the City boss said.

“When you buy players, always you think they will help the squad but you never know what is going to happen. He is a guy who can play every three days and recover immediately.

“His ability is incredible. He understands the game, he wants to learn and all of us are impressed by how much he takes care of his body and his mind.

“The day after [the game] at 8:30 or 9:00 he is in the gym, he makes his routine perfectly. He lives 24 hours of his profession at 23 years old. I can assure you that we signed an incredible player for the next five, six or seven years and that is not easy to find.”
