Pep Guardiola Lifts Lid On Sergio Aguero's City Situation

Sergio Aguero has not featured for Manchester City in 11 games!

That is a lot of time for a player of calibre to be out on the bleachers.

Sure, Aguero has had his fair bit of injury troubles this season, picking up slight niggles and taking considerable time to recover. That has left Guardiola to pick multiple options in strike alongside Gabriel Jesus.

Aguero was once again absent against Jose Mourinho’s men on Saturday. The Cityzens cruised past Tottenham 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium.

“He is OK,” said the City boss. “Yesterday he had a tough training situation.

“We have to take things step by step. As soon as he gets a bit of physical condition and he has the chance to play, he will play.”

There is considerable concern amongst City fans regarding Aguero’s lack of involvement. After all, the club’s record goalscorer is their best attacking threat when in form. With the number of games City have had to play, one would have expected to see the veteran at least start a few matches.

City return to Champions League action this week with their hand on a potential FA Cup as well this term. Aguero will need to find some minutes somehow to return to his old form.
