Apparently, Pep Guardiola and his wife have broken up after thirty years of marriage. Off the field, it seems the Manchester City manager has parted ways with longtime companion Cristina Serra, despite his focus on improving the team’s performance. Despite their decision to split up, Sport claims that their relationship is still “cordial, stable, and friendly.”
According to the story, they had been living apart for almost five years since Cristina returned to Barcelona to manage her fashion business. She still spends time with Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, despite having moved from Spain to London. When contacted about allegations of the split, the city declined to comment. It is thought that when Guardiola was just eighteen, he met Cristina in Serra Claret, her family’s clothing store.
Man City manager gives divorce to his wife
In 2014, the couple married close to Barcelona after meeting in 1994. Together, Maria, 24, Marius, 22, and Valentina, 17, are parents to their three children. Guardiola resides in Manchester, while Serra has reportedly been residing in Barcelona full-time. Photographed with Guardiola at several points last year, Serra is a journalist from Brazil.
Only their close friends and family were initially aware of the decision to dissolve their marriage, which was made in December. A warning has also been issued to friends and family not to divulge any further details regarding the divorce. For a job at her family’s fashion business, Serra Claret, Serra left Manchester in 2019. Guardiola signed a new two-year contract with the Premier League winners in November, even though it was thought he would depart the team at the end of his previous one. The pact ran until 2027.
