Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has publicly expressed his exasperation over the prolonged wait for a decision on the Premier League’s 115 financial charges against the club.
“They Must Be So Busy” – Guardiola’s Sarcastic Jab at Premier League Over City Case

The case, now stretching into a fourth year, remains unresolved with no clear end in sight.
City first faced the historic list of allegations in February 2023. An extensive three-month hearing concluded late in 2025, yet the club’s latest annual report confirmed in December that no ruling had been issued.
Repeated predictions of an imminent verdict since March have all proven incorrect.
Guardiola, who has long called for a swift resolution, admitted he remains completely in the dark.
“It’s the same question I ask you, so I don’t know. I don’t know,” he stated.
“Maybe you have better info than me. You don’t have? I would love to have it, but I don’t know.
The same answer to your question is the same you answered me one, two, three years ago. So they must be so busy.”
This ongoing uncertainty forms a constant backdrop to City’s on-pitch dominance.
Since the charges arrived, the club has secured a legendary Treble and made history by winning four consecutive Premier League titles. They continue to challenge for major honours this season.
Manchester City have consistently denied all the alleged rule breaches, enlisting leading legal defence.
The Premier League, meanwhile, faces significant pressure to justify its decision to level such serious accusations against one of its most successful members.
As the football world watches, the only certainty is further waiting, with Guardiola’s pointed comments highlighting a growing fatigue over the unprecedented delay.
