Pep wants City to be on their toes in PL race

Manchester City are 3 points clear at the top of the table.

Moreover, they have a game in their hand which means they can potentially open up a 6 point lead against the other teams in the league.

Their last win came as a slender 1-0 win over Sheffield and Pep has seen enough of the PL race to push the message that his team need to be on their feet despite being top of the table at the moment.

“Not just January, from the middle of December we know how tough it is, everyone is at home in lockdown, we cannot express ourselves, go out to restaurants like everyone else in the world,” he told reporters.

“To achieve this is quite remarkable, more than any other period from our lives, so that is why I didn’t expect it.

“I said to the players in the meeting, we’ve finished the first leg, congratulations, it’s remarkable what you’ve done all of you and now keep going.

“Now go home and rest, and [prepare for] Burnley.”

City have won two of the last three title races and are as well equipped as any team to see it through again.
