Phil Foden to miss three to four weeks of the new season.
The 21-year old forward suffered an injury before the Euro 2020 final and will miss another three to four weeks as he continues his recovery from a foot injury.
He is also a doubt for England’s World Cup 2022 qualifier against Hungary in September.
Phil Foden explains his extent of injury in an exclusive interview with Sky Sports.
He told Sky Sports: “I had a little girl recently and I’ve had an injury too, so unfortunately I didn’t get away but I’ve stayed here and tried to get back fit and hopefully I can be back on the pitch soon.”
On his injury, Foden said: “It’s still a little bit sore, it’s such a shame to do it just before the Euro final, it was really unfortunate but I’m working hard in the gym.
“Hopefully I can get back as soon as possible.”
“I’d say around three to four weeks more,” he said on his return. “Hopefully it flies by and I can just get back out on the pitch.”
