Manchester City star Phil Foden will miss out England’s upcoming matches in UEFA Nations League. The Englishman is struggling to find proper fitness as he has has played just 45 minutes of football this season.

Pep Guardiola claims that Phil Foden will have to drop out of the England squad due to a virus. He was part of England’s every game in Euro 2024 this summer. He missed out two games against Ipswich Town and West Ham after feeling discomfort against Chelsea on the opening weekend.

The English forward was named in Lee Carsley’s first England squad since becoming interim manager. Guardiola has suggested that the 24-year-old will miss the games against the Republic of Ireland and Finland.

Man City manager replied back when he was asked about Phil Foden’s chances of playing in Nations League, “I don’t think so right now. I think he will not go, but I don’t know.

“He doesn’t feel well — otherwise he would be here. But like I said before, national teams decide.”

Guardiola also added: “He doesn’t feel good. It’s his stomach, a little, little virus. Some people said antibiotics and so on will be fine.”
