When did Richard Dunne retire?
Richard Dunne eventually retired at Queen Park Rangers, however, he spent nearly a decade playing for the Cityzens. He first moved to Manchester City from Everton in 2000, where he spent the majority of years of his footballing career.
Manchester City teammate Micah Richards once said: “Ever since I’ve come to this club Richard has just been quality. I play with him week in, week out and I think he’s one of the best players I’ve played with. I’ve played with John Terry and Rio Ferdinand in the England squad but Richard is right up there with them.”
Dunne finally moved to Aston Villa in the year 2009, marking the end of his Manchester City career. From there, he moved to Queen Park Rangers, where he announced retirement in 2015.

Richards started his profession at Manchester City, showing up over all rivalries in ten seasons, winning a Premier League title and a FA Cup. Richards made 246 appearances for Manchester City, 9 goals and 14 assists. He joined Manchester City in 2005, later getting promoted to the first team in 2006.
On 10 June 2015, Richards was let go of by Manchester City. When he withdrew from the club, Richards was portrayed by nearby paper Manchester Evening News as “a genuine survivor” since the takeover in 2008. Since leaving the club, Richards accepted that Manchester City will never utilize youths ever again. He finally announced the retirement of his football career at Aston Villa in July 2019.

Shaun Wright-Philips played as a winger for Man City. He briefly moved to Chelsea in 2005 and made a move back to Man City in 2008. He finally announced retirement in 2017 and ended his career with Phoenix Rising FC.

Vincent Kompany signed with Manchester City from Hamburg in 2008 and signed a deal with City for four years. In 2009, however, the contract was extended to five years instead of four. He captained the team from 2011-12. In 2019, he left Man City to return to his former club Anderlecht as a player-manager. However, he became a player to concentrate on his playing. He retired as a player by becoming the head coach of Anderlecht in 2020, signing a deal for the next four seasons.
