Txiki Begiristain is the most important man at the Etihad.
This is according to Man City midfielder Rodri who wishes to follow the Spaniard’s footsteps in the future.
Txiki Begiristain is the club’s Director of Football and arguably holds the best important role at the club.
He is responsible for managing the squad, handling new transfers and also manage the contract of current players.
Most players become managers or pundits after their retirement but Rodri wants to follow Begiristain’s footsteps.
Rodri said to Sky Sports: “It’s funny because I renewed for the beginning of the season and we were talking about his role and the way he works.
“I think he’s the most important part of the club right now. He’s the guy who says to the players who comes, who goes and the one who builds the teams.
“It’s not easy. It’s tricky. You have to be clever, speak languages, you have to be smart, a good negotiator and many things that, of course, are important.”
