Al-Ittihad are stepping back from the deal due to the heavy asking price set by Man City.
Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne was on the radar of Saudi Pro League giants Al-Ittihad. However, they have dropped their idea to pursue a transfer deal for the Belgian midfielder.
The 33-year-old will see his contract expire in the summer of 2025. There is no extension in his contract at Etihad. The Belgium international has caught the attention of big clubs.
Saudi clubs have signed players like Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, Fabinho, Riyad Mahrez and Cristiano Ronaldo. They are now ready to bring more key players to boost the league.
Mohamed Salah, Ederson and De Bruyne are the latest players to be linked with Saudi clubs. De Bruyne refused to rule out the possibility of moving to the Middle East this summer.
