Manchester City’s long-serving goalkeeper Ederson could be on his way out of the Etihad Stadium this summer, with strong interest from Saudi Pro League clubs intensifying, sources have revealed to Football Insider.

Man City’s Ederson Likely to Quit This Summer Amid Saudi Interest

The 31-year-old Brazilian has been a key figure in Pep Guardiola’s squad for several seasons, but his future now hangs in the balance.

With his current contract set to expire in June 2026 and no extension in sight, this summer presents City with their last realistic opportunity to cash in.

According to Football Insider‘s senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke, there is “massive” demand for Ederson’s services in the Middle East, with clubs like Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, and Al-Ittihad reportedly battling for his signature.

The lure of a lucrative deal from Saudi Arabia could be enough to tempt the shot-stopper, who is believed to be seriously considering his next move.

It’s understood that Ederson is open to the switch after a somewhat turbulent season in Manchester, where he has found himself in and out of the starting XI.

Despite remaining Guardiola’s first-choice goalkeeper for now, the inconsistency and growing speculation around his future suggest a mutual parting of ways may be on the cards.

Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown has claimed that Guardiola is planning a major squad overhaul this summer, and Ederson’s departure would be one of several high-profile changes.

In anticipation of his exit, City have already begun the process of identifying a new number-one goalkeeper, with Football Insider revealing on April 20 that a shortlist of replacements is being compiled.

Backup keeper Stefan Ortega, whose contract also runs until 2026, is not expected to step up as the automatic successor.

Ederson, who has lifted multiple Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy with City, could now be ready for a fresh challenge – and a record-breaking payday – in Saudi Arabia.

The coming weeks could bring a defining twist in what is shaping up to be a busy and transformative summer at the Etihad.
