Sergio Aguero Injury Not Too Worrying - Pep Guardiola

Pep Guardiola has played down Sergio Aguero’s injury following 5-0 Burnley win.

“Sometimes it is just a reaction on the knee,” said Pep.

“It is swollen. Hopefully tomorrow he can come back to training. With Sergio, it is how he wakes up.

“He makes good training sessions, but then has niggles in his knee.”

Fans were concerned as to why the Argentine was dropped for Saturday’s game. Riyad Mahrez ended up scoring a hat-trick with Ferran Torres and Ferland Mendy getting one each.

Guardiola continued, “Yesterday we decided not to select him. This morning he woke up with little problems in his knee and could not train.

“We know the injury he had is not easy for the recovery – we have to handle it as well as possible. When he is ready, he will play. “

Aguero’s injury as been bearing down on City, given their lack of threat this season. Before the weekend fixture, Guardiola’s men had scored only 10 goals in 9 games. Gabriel Jesus has not been on fire either, lately.

The Brazilian has faced issues of his own but failed to impress when on the pitch. Aguero’s consistent scoring threat will be important for City to make a solid title-run this season.
