According to GIVEMESPORT writer Ben Jacobs, Southampton has conducted negotiations to capture Issa Kabore from Man City, with the Premier League team open to a sale.
Southampton wants to return to the Premier League as soon as possible; therefore, attention is beginning to shift to acquiring new players. Saints have had a respectable start to the season under new manager Will Still, defeating Wrexham at home before drawing with Ipswich Town away.
According to Jacobs’ reporting on X, Kabore has discussed a possible transfer with Southampton. Other teams like Lyon are also interested, and Manchester City is open to a loan or sale this summer.
“Issa Kabore has had discussions with Southampton, and Manchester City is amenable to a sale or loan. Lyon is curious as well. Hamburg, although not an aggressive bidder, had made contact early in the window.
Southampton hold transfer talks over signing of Kabore
Journalist Ben Jacobs reports that Kabore, the right-back for Manchester City, has now had discussions with Southampton, with Etihad Stadium management still considering a loan deal for the 24-year-old or a permanent departure this summer.
According to reports, Olympique Lyonnais is another team in European football that is interested in the Burkina Faso international. Hamburg, a German team, also made an attempt earlier in the current transfer window, but they are no longer actively pursuing the player.
In the future, the choice may depend on whether the city would rather keep control through a loan agreement or obtain a permanent fee for Kabore now. Although Southampton could initially prefer a short-term transfer, an outright sale might be more desirable considering City’s present strategy with other unresolved team players.
It becomes more probable that Issa Kabore’s destiny will be decided before the end of the month as the timeframe goes on. The defender appears poised for another new beginning away from Manchester this summer, whether that is through a transfer back to Ligue 1, a move to Southampton, or the arrival of another surprise suitor.
