Man City defender Stones applauds Cole Palmer for Everton win

Cole Palmer was one of the top performers for Man City at Etihad last week.

John Stones admired Manchester City teammate Cole Palmer after a dominating victory against Everton on Saturday. The Man City academy graduate made his first Premier League start against Toffees.

The 19-year-old was one of the top performers for Man City at Etihad in a 3-0 victory. Coach Pep also admired Cole Palmer for his performance.

Stones told the City website, “Incredible. I am a big fan of Cole.”

“His work rate and how he has trained with us since he first came in, his attitude, he deserves it. I thought he did so well. It is not easy playing in these games where there is not much space.”

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola also admired his academy players and said, “These guys have a good quality. Cole (Palmer), James (McAtee), Romeo (Lavia), Sam Edozie – he is injured – Luke Mbete, Liam Delap is injured and a top striker. We have good players in the academy.”
