Manchester City eyes dynamic midfield upgrade with Khephren Thuram

Manchester City is said to be interested in OGC Nice’s dynamic midfielder, Khephren Thuram. The energetic 22-year-old, who moved from AS Monaco to Nice in the summer of 2019, has drawn the interest of not only City but also Italian giants Juventus.

Thuram has made an amazing 149 appearances for Nice, showing his flexibility and attacking flair while providing eight goals and 11 assists. This season, the Frenchman has continued to make headlines in Ligue 1, leading the Nice side in shot-creation actions (35) with 35.

Additionally, his statistics reveal his proficiency in advancing the ball, with the second-highest number of carries into the final third (31) and key passes (14) for the club.

Aaron Ramsey, a former Nice midfielder, praised Thuram as a “very dangerous, very powerful, and very strong dribbler.” Such accolades highlight Thuram’s potential contribution to Pep Guardiola’s side.

While City rebuilt its midfield in the previous summer transfer window, the chance of securing Thuram’s signing appears to have sparked renewed intrigue.

As the rumour mill spins, City may find themselves in a bidding war with Juventus and other suitors for Thuram’s prized qualities.

Only time will tell whether Guardiola’s team can defeat the competition and sign this promising midfielder.
