Erling Haaland set to sign a new contract with Manchester City.
Man City plotting to make the Norwegian striker the highest-paid player in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old striker enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last year scoring 52 goals in 53 appearances across all competitions and winning the treble with the Cityzens.
Haaland established himself as a major player under Guardiola and the club wants to reward one of the popular figures in the dressing room.
He carried on his impressive form this season netting eight times in seven Premier League games.
Last summer, Real Madrid were one of the clubs chasing the young striker and the rumour mill is still linking Haaland with a potential move to Santiago Bernabeu.
Haaland still has four years remaining on his City contract and currently earns £400,000 per week plus bonuses.
But with the new deal, Haaland is expected to get a rise in salary for his exceptional impact at the club.
Man City are trying to open talks with the Norwegian with a new and improved contract and believes they can extend his current contract by a further 12 months.
