Manchester City has a daring scheme to pair up Erling Haaland with top scorer Evan Ferguson of Brighton

The young Irishman is drawing a lot of attention after a strong start to the season, during which he became the sixth-youngest player in the Premier League to score a hat-trick against Newcastle.

Ferguson, who is being likened to Harry Kane, the current captain of England and a former Tottenham star, is still only 18 years old, but big things are expected of him.

According to iNews, City is considering a proposal for Ferguson that is set to surpass the record-breaking £115 million Chelsea paid for Ferguson’s former Brighton teammate Moises Caicedo last month.

Due to Chelsea’s seemingly limitless cash reserves and Ferguson’s contract, which runs through 2028, a price around £150 million has been proposed to entice the club into selling.

Paul Barber, the chief executive of Brighton, stated last month that it would likely be at least five years before Ferguson was sold. The technical staff is responsible for making the important choices about a player’s development, including whether or not he has to play more first-team games, go on loan, or whether we should trade for him sooner rather than later.
