Manchester City keeping tabs on Ajax protege Gabriel Misehouy

Manchester City has emerged as the frontrunner in the race to sign Athletic Club’s top player, Nico Williams.

The coveted winger, whose contract runs until 2024, has drawn interest from football powerhouses like as Real Madrid and Barcelona, as well as a few Premier League giants.

Despite interest from both Spain and England, the scales seem to be leaning in favour of the English side, with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City leading the charge.

Meanwhile, Williams has expressed a desire to continue his career in Spain, particularly at Real Madrid, presenting a challenge to English clubs.

“These are things that are talked about, rumours. I am calm, focused on the national team and on Thursday’s game,” he told Marca.

Williams added: “Today I think about the national team, to improve my performance here and get the best. What has to happen will happen.”

In return, Barcelona is trying to draw Williams with promises of Xavi Hernández’s ambitious project and the influence of his friendship with Ligo Martnez.

The winger’s future will be determined in the coming months, with City leading the race but facing tough competition from domestic rivals and Spanish giants.
