Jamal Musiala is the rightful heir to Kevin De Bruyne’s throne.

The 20-year-old German international is one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga and remains an important part of Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Bayern Munich are confident that Musiala will commit his future with the Bavarians but Man City are well placed for the youngster if it comes down to a race for his signature.

The Cityzens would have to pay in the north €100 million to sign Musiala as his contract expires in 2026.

Kevin de Bruyne is out with a hamstring injury and won’t be available until the end of this year.

Romano said: “At the moment Jamal Musiala’s contract expires in 2026, and there is still no agreement with Bayern to extend the contract.

“For Bayern, it is an absolute priority. They know that other clubs will be in the race, we’ve had reports of Liverpool, but trust me, it’s not just Liverpool, many important clubs around Europe are keeping eyes on Musiala. Clubs in Spain, in England, not just Liverpool… people at Manchester City and Chelsea have been keeping an eye on Musiala as he’s one of the best talents in the world.”
