Erling Haaland is happy at Man City claims Pep Guardiola.

The Catalan manager believes there is no reason to think that star striker Erling Haaland is unhappy at Manchester City.

There have been reports in the Spanish media that the Norwegian is unhappy with his role in the northwest of England.

But Guardiola shrugged off any such claims and insisted that the 23-year-old striker is perfectly content in England.

Haaland scored 52 goals last season and won the treble with Manchester City but still came second to Lionel Messi in the 2023 Best Fifa award.

“I don’t know, you have to ask the media from Madrid,” the manager said.

“Maybe they have more info than we have. We don’t have that feeling that he’s unhappy. He was [unhappy] because he could not play for two months because he was injured but maybe the media from Spain, and especially Madrid, have more information than us.

“We cannot control what people say. What’s important is that he’s happy. And when he’s unhappy, he will make his decision.”

The Norwegian striker has been out since December with a foot injury but returned to action in the midweek.
