Pep Guardiola will fight Bayern Munich to keep hold of Kyle Walker.

The 33-year-old English defender has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich and has reportedly informed Guardiola that he wants to leave this summer.

He won the treble last season with Manchester City and played 39 times in the 2022-23 campaign.

In his six-year spell at the Etihad, Walker has made 254 appearances winning 14 trophies including five Premier League titles and the Champions League.

Walker has one year left on his Man City contract and is said to be offered a one-year extension by the Cityzens.

Bayern, on the other hand, has offered him a two-year deal which also includes an additional 12-month extension option.

Guardiola said: “He’s an incredibly important player for us. He has specific qualities, so difficult to find worldwide. His specific qualities are irreplaceable.

“We want him, yes. In the end, I don’t know what will happen. I know we’re in contact, both clubs, we will fight for him like I’m sure Bayern will do it. I don’t know how it will finish.”
