Rodri is better than Man United lynchpin Casemiro.
The Spaniard is one of the most influential players and has been the second-best player for Man City this campaign after Erling Haaland according to many.
Since the arrival of Casemiro last summer, Rodri has been compared to the former Real Madrid midfielder as well as Arsenal’s Thomas Partey to decide the best central defensive midfielder.
But ex-City star Joleon Lescott believes Rodri is head and shoulders above Casemiro and is a cut above the other midfielders in the English top-flight.
“I would [take Rodri over Casemiro]. Casemiro has been impactful for Man Utd, but from a centre-half’s point of view, and what I want them to do, I think he prevents a lot of opportunities for the opposition.”
“He recognises the danger so early, so the attacks don’t even start. I would definitely put him ahead of Casemiro, it’s not just my biased Man City hat on!
“He’s a personality as well, he’s not on social media, I think that goes a long way, he’s low maintenance, but so impactful on the pitch”, he said on BT Sport.
