Jack Grealish is expected to be a doubt for England duty.
The Man City winger has been selected as part of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the UEFA 2024 qualifier against Ukraine and a friendly against fellow neighbours England.
Grealish was a surprise omission for City’s weekend game against Fulham as the 27-year-old attacker was ruled out with a thigh problem.
In his absence, Jeremy Doku was handed his Man City debut after his £55m move to the Etihad.
Grealish will likely not be out for long which will be a relief for Pep Guardiola.
With Guardiola himself out, Man City’s temporary boss Juanma Lillo has given a small update on Jack Grealish after the Fulham game.
Lillo said: “It’s going to be difficult for Jack to make it for the national team call up. But I’m not a doctor and it would be difficult for me to explain.
“It’s always difficult in the Premier League. It’s true that the score line did not reflect that first-half we had. In the second-half we were a lot better, I’m not going to say 5-1 better but a different level.”
