Cancelo’s current contract will expire at Man City in the summer of 2027.
Journalist Gerard Romero reported that Barcelona are keen to sign Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo this summer. It has been reported that the Catalan giants are eager to sign the Portugal international in this ongoing transfer window.
Cancelo had a decent loan spell at Bayern Munich last season. He scored one goal and registered six assists in 21 matches for the Bundesliga champions last season across all competitions.
Cancelo’s current contract will expire at Man City in the summer of 2027. Barcelona would have to make a convincing offer if they want to sign him this summer transfer window.
Cancelo is a tough-tackling defender who can make a few important interceptions for his team inside his half. The Portuguese sensation is a great dribbler with the ball as well and has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the opponent’s half.
Cancelo is 29 years old and he has still got a lot of football left in him. He would be a decent option for Barca to consider before the end of this summer transfer period.
