Messi could stay at Camp Nou beyond next summer.

In the summer transfer window, Messi wanted to leave Camp Nou but his move was blocked by his own club.

Manchester City were the frontrunners in landing the Argentine great at the Etihad and they were ready to sign him un the summer window.

In a recent interview with Del Barrio TV, Messi was ready to put the summer transfer saga behind him and is ready to win trophies at Camp Nou.

This also suggests that the 33-year old might stay beyond his current deal with the Catalan giants which could be bad news for the Cityzens.

Messi said: “The truth is that today I’m fine. It’s true that I had a very bad time in the summer.

“It came from before. What happened before the summer, because of how the season ended, the burofax and all that … then I dragged him a bit at the beginning of the season.

“But today I’m fine and I feel like fighting seriously for everything that lies ahead, excited.

“And excited. I know that the club is going through a difficult time, at club level and team, and everything that surrounds Barcelona becomes difficult but I’m looking forward to it.”
