Manchester City is expected to buy West Ham’s midfield maestro, Lucas Paqueta, during the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to Graeme Bailey, after a near-miss with an £80 million deal last August, the stars seem to be aligned for the Brazilian playmaker’s Etihad Stadium debut.

Paqueta, who had initially embraced Pep Guardiola in anticipation of the move, found himself entangled in a web of investigations by both the FA and FIFA due to suspicious betting patterns.

The HITC Football journalist said: “I am told he is not guilty. He will be cleared, so he has basically been denied a move to Manchester City in the last two windows. If he was clear now, I think Man City would have gone in for him.

“I firmly believe that Man City will be back in for him in the summer. I will be very surprised if he’s not a Man City player next season.”

Now, however, Bailey reveals that the talented midfielder is expected to be exonerated, paving the way for a sensational switch to Manchester City.

The 26-year-old has dazzled at West Ham this season, contributing five goals and six assists in 27 appearances across all competitions.

Paqueta’s imminent arrival could see him form a formidable midfield trio with Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri, elevating City’s game to unprecedented heights.

With the likes of Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, and Jeremy Doku in the attacking arsenal, the Citizens appear poised for a period of sustained dominance.

As City looks to the future, Paqueta’s youth promises to inject vitality into the squad, positioning him as a worthy successor to the creative mantle currently donned by De Bruyne, who turns 33 in June.

Brace yourselves for a summer of transfer fireworks as Manchester City prepares to welcome Lucas Paqueta into its formidable ranks.
