Echeverri is likely to be unveiled as a new Man City player on January 25.
Manchester City are planning to complete the signing of River Plate starlet Claudio Echeverri. Argentine transfer window opens at the end of this month. City will wrap up this deal soon.
The Sky Blues are aware of the competition they have for the young talent. Barcelona are also looking to get the signature of the attacking midfielder.
As per the reports of Sky Sports News, Man City have reached an agreement with River Plate to sign Echeverri for an initial €14m (£12m) plus performance-related add-ons.

The 18-year-old is set to return to River Plate on loan. They are having discussions with Man City over the length of the loan deal. The Argentine is likely to be unveiled as a new Man City player on January 25.
River Plate sporting director Enzo Francescoli also confirmed that Echeverri will move to Man City next year. He joined River Plate’s academy in 2017. He was named the third-best player at the Under-17s World Cup last month.
