Man City goalkeeper Ederson ruled out for four weeks after sustaining injury

Man City manager Pep Guardiola acknowledged that he was unaware of the severity of Ederson’s injury.

Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson will be sidelined for four weeks after sustaining an injury against Liverpool in the Premier League.

The 30-year-old was forced off in the second half after fouling Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez with a late challenge inside the penalty area.

Ederson was struggling after conceding the goal against Mac Allister. He eventually limped off in the 56th minute to be replaced by Stefan Ortega.

Man City manager Pep Guardiola acknowledged that he was unaware of the severity of Ederson’s injury, but admitted that it “doesn’t look good”.

The goalkeeper will be sidelined for up to four weeks with a muscle injury. He will miss Man City’s FA Cup quarter-final clash against Newcastle at Etihad on Saturday evening.

Ederson will miss the next Premier League home game against Arsenal on March 31. Man City are said to have informed the Brazilian FA that the shot-stopper has started his rehabilitation process and will be unavailable for international duty.
