Man City are formulating a new offer for the Brazilian midfielder.
The Hammers have rejected City’s initial bid of £70 million for Lucas Paqueta who has reportedly agreed personal terms with the club.
West Ham are reluctant to lose the midfielder after the recent departure of club captain Declan Rice to Arsenal.
They would not sell the Brazilian even if the correct offer came in as they have less time to find a perfect replacement for Paqueta.
The 25-year-old midfielder is reconsidering his future with West Ham and doesn’t want to be involved in another relegation battle with the English club.
He just arrived from Lyon last summer in a £51m deal and still has four years remaining on his contract.
Man City managed to sign Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea to replace Ilkay Gundogan who joined Barcelona this summer.
But Guardiola would need another player in the position to add more quality and depth.
