Pep Guardiola uncertain about the Spaniard’s future.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to Camp Nou all this summer.

Silva has established himself as a crucial player in the Manchester City squad and helped them win four titles in the last five years.

Barcelona are interested in signing the 27-year-old despite their financial problems but they could only sign him if De Jong departs this summer.

Pep Guardiola wishes the Spaniard to prolong his stay at the Etihad but will let him leave if he wants a move.

“Sometimes you have to sell,” Guardiola said. “For the desire for the players, I need people happy here, we try to do it together.

“I would love for Bernardo to continue here, a very special player in the locker room, but I don’t know what will happen. What happens will happen, if he stays is perfect, if he has to leave it’s because football is like this.

“Players have desire and I’m not a person to stop a person desire in life. Football career is so short. I’m a small part of the club, I have to speak to the club, they decide and I say okay.”

“With that and his ability, Alvarez will be able to compete at the best level’, Aguero said.

Manchester City hero Sergio Aguero admits Julian Alvarez can become a world-class player at the Etihad.

Argentina forward was bought by City in January and loaned immediately back to River Plate.

“Julian has all the conditions to succeed at City,” Aguero spoke to Stake.com.

“He has already shown it in the two games he played in which he even scored a goal and against Liverpool no less.

“He is a quiet boy who seems shy but when it comes to training and going out to compete, he is one of the best.

“He works very hard, he gives everything and doesn’t stop running. He is a locomotive and very eager to grow. The advice is to be himself. Let him listen and try to absorb all the teachings. With that and his ability, he will be able to compete at the best level.”

Manchester City will kick off their Premier League campaign this week against Chelsea.

“Pains Me To Say It” – Former Liverpool Star Tips City For The Title

Former Liverpool Star Tips City For The Title

The 2021/22 Premier League campaign turned into another good one for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side. Having missed out on the 2019/20 English top flight title to Jurgen Klopp’s side and failed to make it three league titles on the spin, City are now back in that position in the 2022/23 campaign having restored our dominance in 2020/21.

Guardiola will certainly want to finally conquer the UEFA Champions League title this season, but with Liverpool running us so close last term, there will absolutely be no complacency shown to our domestic fixtures in the coming year. With Klopp’s Liverpool pushing the title down to the final weekends round of action, despite clearly being the far better team on the day, every City fan knows that despite how thrilling it proved to be, our late fight back over Aston Villa on home soil could well have turned out differently.

Few in the world of football expect the next title race to go down that close to the line again, particular following our capture of former Borussia Dortmund hotshot Erling Haaland given his incredible goal return in the German Bundesliga since 2020. Whether or not the 22-year-old Norway international can replicate 62 goals in 59 league starts and then 24 goals in 20 domestic cup and European competitions remains to be seen, as everyone knows the differing pace and physicality of the Premier League, but few would fail to tip the youngster to have another successful spell in a different country given how his career has gone so far and any Premier League betting site would give decent odds on him having success in his maiden year here.

On Friday evening the top flight season gets underway properly as two former City staffers go head to head – former coach Mikel Arteta takes his Arsenal side to Selhurst Park to face off against former EDS head Patrick Vieira, so with build up well underway now to the first weekend of action in the new season, Betway Insider brought together former four time Manchester City Player of the Year and skipper, Richard Dunne, with ex Liverpool right back Glen Johnson to discuss both sides chances of success in the coming football year.

There were a few topics covered, and with City clear favourites to make it three successive title wins on the spin this campaign, both players agreed that it was very much Pep Guardiola’s to lose – but neither saw that actually happening given the quality of players we have in our squad.

Beginning with 37-year-old former England fullback Johnson, he did not feel his former side yet had the overall quality to close the gap again.

“Again it pains me to say it, world class manager, world class signings, world class squad. I just think it’s going to be up against Liverpool this season to try and bridge the gap.”

42-year-old former Republic of Ireland centre half felt Liverpool’s best chance of success was if we took our eye off the ball in the chase for European success, but he just did not feel that would happen.

“I think Liverpool are looking at it and going hopefully, hopefully they take their eye off the ball a little bit at Man City, but they don’t yeah, they keep going, going, going. Man City are relentless, they keep going and I fancy them to win the league again.”

Having failed to lift the Community Shield for the second successive year, City fans will be hoping that becomes an omen for the league this year, but ultimately it is in our hands, there is every reason for confidence, but plenty will be looking to see how Klopp’s side start the year against Fulham in Saturday’s early kick off and who knows, we may instantly have a three point advantage over them.

Pep Guardiola convinced the midfielder to join Etihad this summer.

The 26-year-old midfielder believed it was a no-brainer when he knew he could work under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

The Cityzens paid a £42million transfer fee to Leeds United in order to secure his services.

He will play a crucial role in the midfield next season and is currently having an Amazon documentary made about his career.

Phillips further explained how Guardiola had a massive impact on the Englishman for his switch to the Etihad.

“The fact that they are managed by obviously one of the best managers in the world, it was a no-brainer when there were reports that City were interested.” Phillips told GQ.

“It was the only team that I was ever going to come to if I left Leeds. They (players) want to win as many trophies as possible, but the main thing was to be managed by Pep and try and learn as much as I can.

“It feels like I’m home already. It feels like I’m in a team that regards me as one of their own already.”

Aguero believes Haaland would take time to adapt to English football.

The Norwegian striker joined Cityzens this summer after bagging 62 goals in 67 Bundesliga games for Borussia Dortmund in the past two seasons.

He is undoubtedly a favourite to win the Golden Boot this year even though he struggled in the Community Shield clash against Liverpool.

He missed a sitter from only a couple of yards that night.

Club legend Sergio Aguero believes Haaland is too used to German football and will take time to adapt to the Premier League.

Aguero himself scored 23 league goals in his debut season for City back in 2011.

‘He was too used to Germany,’ Aguero said on his Twitch channel.

‘Haaland thought he was alone, then Van Dijk arrived and said “welcome to the Premier League”.’

The Cityzens also let go star player Raheem Sterling to Chelsea this summer for £50m.

Aguero who spent six seasons with Sterling questioned the club’s decision to sell the England international this summer.

‘I don’t understand the sale of Sterling,’ Aguero said. ‘There are times they [City] make strange decisions.’

Sergio Gomez has also been linked with Leeds and West Ham.

Manchester City are interested in signing Anderlecht’s Sergio Gomez. The club have opened talks with Anderlecht over a highly-rated Spanish full-back, according to 90min.

The 21-year-old had a brilliant 2021/22 season under City legend Vincent Kompany, who is believed to have talked up Gomez to his former club.

Gomez finished last season with 11 assists. He has also been linked with Leeds and West Ham. City are the frontrunners to sign the full-back in a deal believed to be worth around £15m.

City needs left-sided options due to the sale of Oleksandr Zinchenko, who moved to Arsenal this summer. Gomez is being looked at with an eye on the future and will not impact their search for a Zinchenko replacement.

As reported by AS, Manchester City are interested in Sergio Gomez if they fail to come to an agreement over the transfer of Marc Cucurella with Brighton.

Manchester City playmaker Bernardo Silva still being pursued by Barcelona

Bernardo Silva is a key player for Pep Guardiola.

A fresh report from the Sun claims, it is believed that Manchester City playmaker Bernardo Silva is still being pursued by Barcelona.

The Catalan giants have agreed on personal terms with the playmaking wizard. This deal could only happen if Barcelona successfully sell Frenkie De Jong.

Silva had an impressive campaign last season when he managed to produce some master-class displays as a key member of Guardiola’s starting XI. He scored 13 goals and provided seven assists across all competitions.

The Portugal international is a key player for Pep Guardiola as he can transition the attack from the midfield areas.

Guardiola should do everything in his capability to keep hold of him for a couple more years as he will be crucial in their run for the UCL title and defending the Premier League title in 2022/23.

Jack Grealish might just be sent out on loan.

The England international has struggled to quite hit the levels he did with Villa at Manchester City.

The Cityzens coughed up £100m for him which made him the most expensive British player of all time.

He has shown only a few glimpses of brilliance and according to Tony Cascarino he needs to step up to continue in Pep’s XI.

“Jack has got an issue. You can’t be a £100m player and be OK, your standard is higher than that. City’s standard is higher than that and he has been six out of ten too often,” Cascarino said on TalkSPORT.

“At the end of the season, if he doesn’t pick up his standards, what we know he’s capable of and why they paid £100m for him, he’ll probably be loaned out or he might end up back at Villa. He’s not playing well enough consistently for Man City. I’m not talking about being OK, six out of tens. He should be eight or nine. He’s got so much quality.”

Man City signed four players this summer window.

The Cityzens has signed Julian Alvarez, Erling Haaland, Stefan Ortega Moreno and Kalvin Phillips to bolster their current elite squad.

The club also witnessed the departure of first-team players like Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Pep Guardiola all four signings to adapt to Man City’s system in order to prosper further.

“We are not going to change the way we play,” he told mancity.com.

“We’re going to adapt the quality that the players have to be involved in the way we play, but we are not going to change the way we play.

“Why should we change the way we play when we did really quite well in these last seasons?

“But we want Erling, Julian and Kalvin, and of course, Stefan, we want the best of them, the best version of them, adapting what you want to play.

“I’m pretty sure it’s happened. It’s [been] just a few days together, but the feeling is really good for all of them.”

Erling Haaland is eagerly waiting for his Premier League debut.

The prolific striker moved to the Etihad this summer and seems to be well settled at the other side of Manchester.

The club recently won 1-0 against Bayern Munich in the pre-season and Haaland scored the only goal in that game.

He has formed a close bond with Jack Grealish as well as Pep Guardiola.

The Norwegian talisman is ready to take the centre-stage at Manchester City this season.

‘[My] first time winning against Bayern, I have to say it’s about time!’ Haaland told reporters after the friendly.

‘Seven losses in a row. It feels good to win against Bayern. The quality is good, and it was also good to play against Bayern to get a real test before Liverpool in the week.

‘As you probably all know I’ve been watching a lot of City games over the last few years and last year they were without strikers, so of course I’ve been seeing myself in these kinds of situations, so I’m not surprised [I scored].’
