Echeverri has agreed on a six-year contract which will keep him with Man City until 2030.
Manchester City is ready with their first signing of 2024 as they have picked 17-year-old River Plate starlet Claudio Echeverri who has agreed on a six-year deal at Etihad.
It’s reported that Man City have shaken hands with their Argentinian counterparts on a £21.7m deal for Echeverri. Chelsea and Real Madrid were also looking to sign this young talent.

Echeverri will remain in Argentina before linking up with Man City in December 2024. As per Fabrizio Romano, the two clubs are exchanging the paperwork at present.
Echeverri has agreed on a six-year contract which will keep him on the books with Man City until 2030. He has made just 6 appearances for River Plate’s first-team, scoring one goal. He also won the 2023 Argentine Primera Division and Trofeo de Campeones.
The 17-year-old was impactful during the U17 FIFA World Cup and marked attention in the Argentina outfit with 5 goals. He finished the 2023 Under-17 South American Championship as the tournament’s highest goalscorer.
