Pep Guardiola offers an update on Man City’s goal machine.

The Norwegian striker twisted his ankle and limped off in Man City’s 6-1 win over Bournemouth over the weekend.

City manager withdrew the 23-year-old striker as a precautionary measure and the doctor would make a final call whether he should start against Young Boys on Tuesday.

But the former Borussia Dortmund striker was seen yesterday training with the first team.

Manager Pep Guardiola claimed that Haaland’s condition is not too serious and his fitness will be assessed before the Champions League game.

“Yesterday [Sunday] he told me he feels much better than on the day of the game but I don’t know,” Guardiola told a news conference on Monday.

“I will listen to the doctors. If he says he is ready and does not have pain I will consider him to play [against Young Boys].

“Right now if Erling can’t play, Julián [Álvarez] will play there. Julian is quite good! I like him arriving as a striker and he can play both so we’re really pleased.”
