Pep Guardiola responds to Roy Keane criticism over his management style

Roy Keane was not impressed with Guardiola’s antics after Manchester derby.

The Cityzens sealed a comfortable 3-0 win over Man United last Sunday to mark their first win after two back-to-back defeats.

Haaland was denied a hattrick and after the final whistle, Guardiola was seen in deep conversation with the Norwegian striker as the pair left the field on Sunday.

Man United legend Roy Keane was particularly not happy with the incident and called out the Catalan coach for having a chat on the pitch after the final whistle.

But Guardiola has dismissed the pundit’s comments and explained that he is not trying to put on a performance after a game.

He told reporters: ‘I don’t need at my age to do something for the people.

‘I respect a lot Roy Keane. Sometimes I finish the game and go inside, sometimes I stay there. When I find a player we chat about the game. I know the camera is there.

‘At that moment I was outside, wanted to [celebrate] with the fans.

‘I don’t think after the game to go to the players to do some spectacle for the people. I could have done it inside, of course. I’ve done it many times in the locker room.’
