Jack Grealish could be key to City winning the Champions League.

Man City will be focused to win the Champions League this season after losing to Chelsea in the final last campaign.

The Cityzens has won every piece of silverware since Guardiola’s arrival in 2016 except the coveted Champions League.

Kevin Thompson believes Man City could win the Champions League with Grealish signing.

“If Pep is leaving in two years, he’s got two cracks at the Champions League,” Thompson told Paddy Power.

“They will finish in the Champions League spot no matter what, so he’s going to have a couple of chances at winning it for them. It’s their holy grail, like it was with Liverpool and the Premier League. 30 years of hurt coming to an end for Jurgen Klopp’s side in 2020.”

“With the money that Manchester City have thrown at the Champions League, they need to win it. The owners want it, and they have enough quality in their ranks to field two teams of good Premier League quality.”

“Before Jack Grealish signed, I would have said Liverpool are a good shout for the title, but now he has made all the difference to City’s title challenge.

“Liverpool will be far better with the players that are coming back, it’ll change the dynamic how Liverpool will play with just van Dijk there offensively rather than defensively.

“If everybody stays fit, we (Liverpool) can compete with anybody. If Chelsea continue their good form, and Manchester United’s signings have a big impact they could both have good seasons too.”
