Carragher considers Arsenal’s draw against Liverpool was ideal outcome for City

This is a fantastic result for Manchester City, says Jamie Carragher.

Jamie Carragher feels Man City would be a happy side after a draw game between Arsenal and Liverpool. Both teams played competitive football and shared one point each in Saturday’s Premier League encounter at Anfield.

Arsenal retained their top before Christmas and Liverpool moved to second in the table. Aston Villa also dropped points with a draw against Sheffield United. Both results were favourable for Pep Guardiola’s side who are chasing 4th consecutive Premier League title this season.

Man City will not take part in this week due to their Club World Cup fixture and their game has been postponed. They are currently behind in the title race after some poor results this season, Pep Guardiola’s men are fifth in the table with one game in hand.

While on punditry duty for the Arsenal game, Carragher said via the BBC: “At the moment, this is a fantastic result for Manchester City.”

Man City are 5 points behind Arsenal with one game in hand so we consider, if they win that remaining game, the margin is of 2 points. Anything can happen in upcoming games and City are expert in making a comeback in the title race.
