Man City boss Guardiola belives Liverpool still alive in title race

Pep Guardiola’s side is 12 points ahead of second-placed Liverpool.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola talked about the chances for Liverpool in the pursuit of the Premier League title.

At the current stage, Manchester City are the strong favourites to retain the trophy. The competition crosses the halfway mark and City has managed the gap with Liverpool and Chelsea in the table standings.

Pep’s side is 12 points ahead of second-placed Liverpool after securing a 2-0 win over Brentford on Wednesday. If the Reds manage to win the next two games, then they can make this gap to 6 points after 24 games.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Pep Guardiola said about the title race: “Liverpool have two games to play then we see the gap – 14 games to play, many points to play for and more tough games like today.

“Everyone is tough competition, but it is impressive at this stage to have 60 points – we have done incredibly well so far.”

Liverpool will next face Leicester City this week to reduce the margin. The best thing is they will welcome Salah in the side after missing out last few ties due to AFCON. Mane will miss this week’s clash.
