Lucas Paqueta will push to make a move to Manchester City.
Man City are prepared to make a £60m offer for the midfielder who is currently high on City’s potential targets.
He has four years remaining on his contract and was signed from Lyon for £51m last summer.
But West Ham would not want to sell Paqueta even if the price is right as they won’t have significant time to find a direct replacement for the Brazilian midfielder.
They would also be reluctant to lose the midfielder after the recent departure of club captain Declan Rice to Arsenal.
Man City’s initial approach for the player has been rejected by the Hammers but the European champions can return with an offer of £70m.
Paqueta is reportedly unsettled and is reconsidering his future with West Ham and doesn’t want to be involved in another relegation battle with the English club.
City also already signed Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea to replace Ilkay Gundogan who joined Barcelona on a free transfer.
