In front of Matheus Nunes’ prospective Manchester City debut, Pep Guardiola has outlined areas in which the midfielder can improve
On transfer deadline day, Nunes completed a £53 million transfer to the Premier League winners, and he might make his club debut this weekend against West Ham.
The Portuguese international, who had an uneven first season at Wolves before moving to the Etihad, has long been a favourite of Guardiola.
The 25-year-old can enhance his game in the areas the Spaniard has revealed he expects from Nunes this season.
He can play holding midfielder, attacking midfielder, or even full-back, according to Guardiola, who said this during the press conference before the game.
“His first touch needs to be better; it isn’t yet up to par. He played the last games with Wolves as a winger and has good energy. He has so many positive traits. He also has good dribbling skills and will eventually learn how to use his first touch more precisely. He’ll learn it.
