Tomas Soucek to make way for Kalvin Phillips if West Ham completes loan move

Tomas Soucek might be the likely candidate to find himself on the bench if Phillips joins the squad.

As per the reports of Danny Murphy, Kalvin Phillips is almost on the verge of signing a loan deal with West Ham. He could replace Tomas Soucek in the starting line-up of the Hammers.

Kalvin Phillips is heavily linked with West Ham United and the London club has already made final discussions with Man City on loan agreement. He is likely to join the club in the coming days.

Murphy spoke to talkSPORT and emphasised that the Englishman requires consistent playing time and joining West Ham could be a beneficial move for him. The 28-year-old is eyeing the upcoming Euro competition which will be held in Germany.

Murphy insists that Tomas Soucek might be the likely candidate to find himself on the bench if Phillips joins the squad. The Czech international will make a way for the Man City star.

Murphy spoke to TalkSPORT, “He’s a talented lad, who needs a platform to play, he’s got an England squad to try and get into and I think this could be a good move for him.”

“But when you look at the midfield West Ham have got, I know they’re still in two competitions and there’s going to be quite a few games, but Alvarez has been sensational since he’s come in.”

He added: “My feeling is, Moyes and the club wouldn’t go out on a limb, put the money in if they weren’t going to play him. I think he’ll take Soucek’s place.”
