Thierry Henry backs Mbappe as the better player between the two.

Summer signing Erling Haaland has already registered 12 goals in his last eight games this season and is a favourite to win the Golden Boot this year.

He has started every game for Manchester City so far this season.

Mbappe on the other hand scored a brace in PSG’s last Champions League clash against Juventus.

There has been a lot of debate among pundits and fans over who the better player is.

But Thierry Henry believes Mbappe is an overall better player than Erling Haaland.

He told CBS: “Mbappe can create and finish. Haaland doesn’t create. He finishes.

“Mbappe can play on the right and on the left. He can play in the middle. Haaland can only play in the middle.

“He is a magnificent player and with him they can win the Champions League last year. Against Real Madrid, if it was him at the end of those chances that they missed, they will have been focused on scoring one or two. For now, Mbappe is still my vote.”

Man City are favourites to retain the title this year.

The Cityzens have been the most dominant team in the Premier League in the past few years winning the title four times in five years.

Liverpool finished just one point behind Man City last season but had a disappointing start to the new season.

Ex-City and Arsenal star Bacary Sagna believes Arsenal would be the biggest threat to Man City this season due to Liverpool’s slow start to the Premier League.

He told Betway: ‘I feel Arsenal can be the main competition to Man City for the Premier League title, who of course remain the very strong favourites.

‘I don’t see any other team that can challenge them. Of course you can’t totally rule out Liverpool, but they have lost Sadio Mane and don’t look the same without him.

‘Mane and Mohamed Salah complemented each other so well and were so consistent, I’m not sure Liverpool will be feared in quite the same way this season.

‘With Arsenal having made a great start it feels like they could be the main contenders to compete with this incredible Manchester City side for the Premier League title.’

Pep Guardiola claimed his squad cannot become too focused on Haaland in the coming months.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has warned his side cannot rely on Erling Haaland to fire them to Champions League glory.

Haaland is currently the leading goal-scorer in Premier League with 10 goals including two hattricks. The former Borussia Dortmund striker completed a £51.2m contract this summer.

The 22-year-old has hit the ground running in his first weeks at City and proved his worth.

The Cityzens will kick off their European campaign away at Sevilla in Group G tomorrow.

Man City boss claimed his squad cannot become too focused on Haaland in the coming months, despite his record of 23 Champions League goals in the last three seasons.

“If we rely all on Erling’s shoulders we don’t win the Champions League”, as per reports from BBC Sport.

“I understand everyone talks about Erling, but I have three, four, five new players, and it’s important they all settle.

“We don’t win just because of Erling and we don’t lose just because of Erling. He has a special quality and solves some problems.”

Sevilla have struggled so far in 2022/23, with just one point picked up from four league games.

Man City were held at Villa Park on Saturday night.

The Cityzens drew 1-1 against struggling Aston Villa and has lost Kyle Walker to an injury on that afternoon.

“He had to be substituted because he had some problems in the first half,” Guardiola said. “He continued but at the end he could not continue.

“We will see (how he is). I didn’t speak with the doctors.”

Guardiola explains what to expect when they visit Sevilla on Tuesday night for their round-of-16 Champions League tie.

“Normally I am a positive person in general,” Guardiola said to the season ahead of the Group G opener.

“In general you analyse every game, the performance. We have dropped four points so far and now we have the Champions League.

“Every game away is difficult in the Premier League – Newcastle, today – I know how difficult it is and the opponents are really good.

“The titles we won in the past were difficult and this will be no exception.

Ederson explains the key to Man City’s success.

The Man City goalkeeper has established himself as one of the best keepers in the Premier League and has won the Golden Glove for three seasons in a row.

The 29-year-old explains his development as a player and the reason behind his and the club’s success.

Ederson said: “Time flies. I grew a lot in my time at Manchester City, not only as a player, but as a person too. I feel more mature now. Every day is a learning experience. Every day I try to learn something new and develop.

“The recipe is to work hard, help my teammates and help the team. I honestly feel very happy. I feel very fulfilled here in this club that experienced huge growth in the last few years. You can tell from the number of trophies we have won.

“But we are always searching for more, always trying to improve ourselves and working hard every day. The Premier League is a fascinating championship.

“You need to give your 100 per cent in every game, there aren’t easy games regardless of the team you are facing. It’s important that the team manage to have several wins in a row, knowing how difficult it is with so many great teams and playing every three days.”

The world cup is one of the biggest sporting events in the entire world. The Qatar 2022 World Cup is just around the corner and, as the tournament approaches, more and more teams are putting together their final squads for the competition.

The case of Manchester City is very particular as it has more than ten players who are permanently recruited and are expected to participate in the World Cup.

The FIFA 2022 biggest event is approaching. In what follows, we discuss which players are likely to be called up for the World Cup.

Manchester City, a home for international talent

Manchester City is well known for having one of the most competitive football squads in the world. Since the arrival of Pep Guardiola, The Citizens have won 10 trophies including several Premier League titles, the Community Shield, the Carabao Cup, and the EFL Cup.

The individual displays of many players are also widely known, which is a major attraction for international competitions. Among them, the key contributions of Bernardo Silva and the new additions to the team are worth taking into consideration.

This has been possible thanks to the arrival of great national and international players who display their highest level of football in every game. And, such performances have captured the attention of the world’s great coaches.

Gareth Southgate has expressed his interest in the development of many City players who have been repeatedly called up to represent England. Such is the case of Kyle Walker or John Stones.

The list of internationals is not limited to the England squad, however. Many coaches of each country permanently call these players who demonstrate every week their talent in the most prestigious European competitions.

It should be noted that, despite the fact that many selected players did not reach the World Cup, other players have a singular deployment in their national teams such as Erling Haaland or Riyad Mahrez to name a few.

Despite the unusual nature of this World Cup and the special training sessions held, many surprises are expected.

Players from the European continent

On the England side, Manchester City is expected to include many English players such as Kyle Walker, John Stones, Kalvin Phillips, Phil Foden, and Jack Grealish to Southgate’s squad. However, this list is still provisional.

Other players also arouse great expectations for the competition such as Ruben Dias, Bernardo Silva, and Joao Cancelo for Portugal; Rodri, for Spain; Kevin De Bruyne, for Belgium; Iikay Gundogan for Germany or Nathan Ake for the Netherlands.

Players from the Americas

For South America, some players are also expected to participate. For example, Ederson is a goalkeeper for Brazil or Julián Álvarez for Argentina.

Zack Steffen, who is currently on loan at Middlesbrough, has also been a regular starter for the United States.

In short, Manchester City is currently enjoying a great footballing present. This level is being replicated in national soccer and more and more players are being called up by their respective national teams to represent the country in Qatar 2022.

Bernardo Silva is staying put at Manchester City.

The Portuguese midfielder played a crucial role in Man City for the past few seasons.

Pep Guardiola reinstated that Silva will remain at the club and has started all five games in the Premier League so far.

The 28-year-old midfielder has been linked with Barcelona all summer and even PSG made an offer recently.

But Guardiola would want to keep hold of him beyond this summer.

Garth Crooks has praised the midfielder after City’s win over the Eagles.

“Here is another player who is in great form again,” Crooks said.

“Silva was outstanding against Newcastle last week and at the heart of a brilliant comeback against Crystal Palace.

“Manchester City reportedly turned down a recent bid for Silva from Paris St-Germain and we can see why.

“The Portugal international is running things at the moment. Should anything happen to Kevin de Bruyne or Ilkay Gundogan, then Silva is the only one capable of holding the fort in their absence.”

Bernardo Silva is a crucial player in Guardiola’s system.

The Portuguese midfielder has been strongly linked with Barcelona all the summer but he will prolong his stay at Etihad as Guardiola confirmed.

Pep Guardiola reinstated that Silva will remain at the club and has started all five games in the Premier League so far.

Pep explains how important is Silva to the Manchester City squad.

Guardiola said: “I’m happy that Bernardo became a winning player,’ of course the highlights will be of Erling. But we cannot forget what Bernardo has done, scoring the goal and creating down the right side in the second half.

“What amazes me about Bernardo is that when the game is going wrong he makes a step forward, he loves to play in this situation. He’s comfortable with it.

“Some players maybe step backward and he makes a step forward. That’s why he is irreplaceable in many ways for us.

“He’s so important for us, he can play in four or five positions. And it’s not just on the pitch, it’s off it too. In the locker room, I want him here so much.”
