Raheem Sterling should be named player of the tournament.

The England international is the favourite to be named player of the tournament and scored three goals in England’s march to the final of the Euro 2020.

His club teammate John Stones has lauded the winger’s performances and recognised his work for the team.

“I’m a big fan of Raheem’s and I’d love to see him get player of the tournament. What he’s done for us and the unselfish part of his game goes unspoken about but as players we see it,” Stones said during a press conference.

“He’s been a great threat going forward with how direct he’s been. It’s been great playing with him and he’ll be giving everything on Sunday, hopefully get another goal and see where it takes us.”

“I couldn’t be happier for him, he’s gone through some difficult times personally. You can see it’s motivated him and he’s come out the other end a better player,” he added.

“That’s what top players do, they find a way when things aren’t going well to excel as a person and as a player, he really deserves this.”

Lionel Messi’s transfer to City would be ‘financial doping’

Lionel Messi won’t join Manchester City this summer.

La Liga president Javier Tebas believes Messi joining Man City will be ‘financial doping’ in football.

The Barca legend is a free agent and is currently in talks for a new deal with the Catalan giants.

Tebas has called out City earlier as he was a big supporter of UEFA’s decision to charge the club for ‘serious breaches’ of Financial Fair Play regulations.

“He won’t be able to sign on the previous conditions, that’s impossible,” Tebas said.

“But I don’t think any European club would be able to pay that amount.

“City have lost €270m [during the pandemic] so obviously they wouldn’t even consider signing Messi [on his previous salary]. PSG have had losses, too, so they can’t even consider signing Messi [for that much].”

He continued: “If they do, it will be financial doping. It would be incredible if it happened. We need to establish limits. Financial doping is damaging football.

“It’s not real money because it’s not generated by the clubs. Money not from football causes bad inflation and ruins football because clubs must put in all this effort [to compete], which takes them above their financial capacity.

“We have to fight against this. This is one of the pending issues in European football. If it’s not solved, the game will find itself in a very complicated situation.”

Manchester City will not sign a new striker this summer.

The Cityzens has already made an initial bid worth £100m for England captain Harry Kane to replace club legend Sergio Aguero who joined Barcelona on a free transfer.

Earlier in May, Kane expressed his desire to leave Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.

“At the prices (quoted) we are not going to buy any strikers. It is impossible, we cannot afford it,” Guardiola told Catalan network TV3.

“All clubs are struggling financially, we are not an exception. We have Gabriel (Jesus) and Ferran (Torres) who have been incredible in this position

“We have young players in the academy and we play many times with a false nine. There is more of a chance we aren’t going to buy a striker for next season.

“We’ll do whatever we can do in the transfer window and if we can’t, we’ll still have the squad that has won the league three times in four years and reached the Champions League final.”

Manchester City Are Destroying Football – La Liga President

Manchester City Are Destroying Football - La Liga President

La Liga president Javier Tebas has hit out at Manchester City for manipulating the game of football.

Barcelona recently got slapped with a salary breach by La Liga and has been asked to reduce their wages by half.

Manchester City, on the other hand, has not faced any repurcussions for their spending.

“In recent years we have reduced the distance with the Premier League despite the fact that LaLiga has sold its television rights centrally for only seven years, compared to the Premier’s 30 [years],” wrote Tebas

“In addition, the UK has twenty million more inhabitants than Spain. We grow every year.

“Our clubs have been profiting for seven years. You have to worry more about the City Group, which has accumulated a billion in losses in recent seasons.

“They are not investors. They are money destroyers who create inflation. Would you have won so many titles without economic doping?”

Manchester City’s expansion plans have not slowed down yet. They have partnered with plenty of clubs across the continent and plans on making some marquee signings this very summer.

Premier League duo, Jack Grealish and Harry Kane have been heavily linked with a move to the Etihad. If there is any club who can finance a deal for both in the same transfer market, it would be City.

Manchester City Bid For Jack Grealish Always Expected

Manchester City Bid For Jack Grealish Always Expected

Aston Villa always expected Manchester City to bid for Jack Grealish.

That is according to Express & Star journalist Luke Hatfield.

“I think City is the biggest at the moment only because reports have come out to some extent that they are interested in him,” the Aston Villa journalist told FFC.

“Obviously Man United were the best last season. They seem to have changed tack quite a bit. Jadon Sancho seems to be coming through the door there.

“He plays in a similar position, obviously on the wing, usually on the other side of Dortmund.”

Aston Villa are strongly pursuing a deal for Arsenal youngster, Emile Smith Rowe and also paid €35m for Emiliano Buendia. Both players are potential replacements for Grealish, capable of playing from out wide or down centrally.

Hatfield added, “It was always expected at Villa that there was going to be interest in him. And it would be silly not to expect that considering the performances he put in over the season and then what he’s obviously doing for England now.”

Grealish is on a long-term contract with Villa, however and won’t come cheap by any means. City are also gunning for the services of Harry Kane. Pep Guardiola might have to prioritise one deal over the other this summer since both are tipped to cost over £100m.

Manchester City Will Really Need To Twist Tottenham’s Hand For Kane

Manchester City Will Really Need To Twist Tottenham's Hand For Kane

Manchester City facing more resistance for Harry Kane.

Tottenham sporting director, Fabio Paratici revealed that it is one of the club’s main goals to keep the striker this summer.

Manchester City are favourites in the running for Kane. He underwent another trophyless campaign with the Spurs and might finally want out. Unfortunately, he has a long-term contract with Tottenham and City will really have to stack up the cash to land him.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the former Juventus chief said: “To keep Kane isn’t only a goal for me, but for the club. He is a top player. I was lucky in my time at Juventus, I saw so many great strikers and I want to enjoy Kane too.

“I can’t wait to see him. He’s one of the best strikers in the world, he has great physique and also a fine technique. He can shoot with both feet, he gives the team-mates many assists.

“I haven’t talked to him yet because I don’t want to disturb our players during Euros.”

Kane’s future is expected to be decided after England’s Euro 2020 campaign gets over. He is currently playing at a top level for The Three Lions, helping them progress to the semi-final round.

Tottenham are confident of keeping Harry Kane at the club.

Daniel Levy won’t sell his star player Harry Kane in this summer.

The 27-year old England captain has been linked with a move away from the North London club after Spurs failed to qualify for the Champions League next term.

Kane’s contract is due to expire in 2024 and Italian journalist Romano has revealed that Spurs will be able to keep their club captain beyond the summer.

The prolific striker scored 23 goals and made 14 assists in the Premier League last term winning his 3rd Golden Boot of his career.

Romano said: “Man City want to do an important deal after the Euros.

“They made this bid for Harry Kane some days ago. It is £100m with the possibility of including players in the negotiation. Raheem Sterling doesn’t want to be included but maybe other players [could be].

“At the moment, what I know is that Tottenham are still saying the player is not leaving the club.

“Tottenham are convinced they can keep the player at the club.”

The 24-year old made 128 appearances in all competitions for Leeds in the last three years and scored eight goals and created eight assists in the Premier League last season.

He has signed a three-year contract at Elland Road that will run until the summer of 2024.

Reflecting on his last three seasons with Leeds United, Harrison thanked his teammates and the manager.

“It hasn’t all been highs”, Harrison told LUTV.

“I had a rough start here but once I broke through that in the English culture and style of football, I managed to find my way a little bit.

“With the help of my team-mates and Marcelo, I worked hard on my craftsmanship and I have seen a lot of improvements, I hope to keep doing that.

“With the generosity of Marcelo, I’ve had a lot of playing time so it was a great way for me to improve and continue my career as a player.”

Manuel Locatelli has been repeatedly linked with a move to Manchester City.

The Italian midfielder has been impressive in Euro 2020 this summer scoring two goals in Italy’s 3-0 win over Switzerland.

Sassuolo chief Giovanni Carnevali reveals that Arsenal are the leading contender for Locatelli’s signature among the Premier League clubs.

Man City will have to make a move soon if they want to beat out Arsenal to his signature.

“Juventus are the only Italian club we talked to about Locatelli,” Carnevali told Sky in Italy. “We met last week with (Juventus sporting director Federico) Cherubini.

“There is interest from their side, we haven’t explored all the terms and evaluations, but we have an excellent relationship with Juventus so we will continue these talks.

“It’s true that other clubs from abroad are interested, Arsenal are one of these and they are ahead of everyone else because they tabled the only concrete offer we have received so far.”

Zinchenko is motivated rather than frightened when they face England in the quarter-finals.

Zinchenko believes Ukraine needs to stop City team-mate Sterling who has scored three goals in four games in the Euros.

Ukraine takes on Southgate’s England in Rome this Saturday evening.

“I watched almost all of their matches at the Euros except for (Germany),” Zinchenko said. “I know many players of the team personally thanks to the matches in the Premier League.

“It is very difficult to score for this team, it is a great team with a fantastic selection of performers.

“If you look at their bench, there are players worth, probably, like three national teams of Ukraine.

“But this should not frighten us, but rather motivate us. I have already felt that everything in this life is real. I will personally do my best to achieve the result in the next game.”

“Raheem is in great shape,” Zinchenko said added. “He is the player who makes a difference on the field. Of course, we should pay attention to it and try to restrain it.”
